Hi everyone 👋🏻 new member here. Wondering if anyone could comment on the suitability of a Dobermann as an assistance dog? I am a long time dog owner but have no experience with the dobermann breed although I adore them! We already have a dog and are now considering getting a female dobermann to join our family. I know dobies are extremely intelligent and love to work therefore I was wondering if she would make a good assistance dog? I would train her myself with the help of a charity, to alert me and perform tasks to support me. From everything I have read about the breed I think a dobie would be well suited to this work however my only concern is their natural guarding instinct. An assistance dog needs to be confident and comfortable with strangers approaching, and potentially be able to enlist the help of a stranger if I have a medical crisis. Would love to hear from dobie owners about this! Thank you ☺️ ... See MoreSee Less
