The Dobermann Club Open Show 5th September 2021
I would like to thank the committee for the great honour of inviting me to judge at your Open Show and for the hospitality on the day. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for entering their dogs and accepting placings in a sporting manner. A huge thank you also to the stewards on the day who kept me on my toes.

MPD- (5.1a)
1st Bevan’s Khaneve Kryptonite - 7mth BL/RT short backed compact male. Muzzle in proportion to skull, neat tight ears. Eyes colouring and shape to standard. Sufficient length of neck flowing into a short hard topline with good tailset. Good front assembly with sufficient fore chest, with brisket down to elbow. Slightly flat on feet today but covered the ground well.
2nd Bryan’s Johmar Harlequin - 6mth BL/RT Nice strong head with dark eye and good length and depth of muzzle, correct bite. Body longer in length than 1, croup dropping with lower tailset. Nice turn of stifle. Brisket down to elbow, standing on tight feet. Just didn’t have the movement and enthusiasm of 1.
3rd Elston’s Thunder Strike
PD-(3)1st Robertson’s Cockneyoka Dire Straits - 11mths BL/RT Quality youngster with substance. Masculine head piece with the darkest of eye with correct shape. Well filled under eyes. Strong muzzle with good underjaw. Neck slightly convex flowing into correct shoulder placement with upper arm, elbows tight against well dropped brisket. Front assembly parallel ,dropping into strong pasterns and tight well arched feet. Topline slightly sloping to correct tail set. Hindquater angulation in balance with front with a good turn of stifle and well muscled thighs. Covered the ground with ease. Promising youngster. BPIS.
2nd Elston’s Thunder Strike - 7mths BL/RT Pleasing head with correct planes, dark almond shaped eye, with correct bite. Tight elbows and parallel front dropping into tight catlike feet. Shoulder placement and topline not as good as 1. Tendency to roach. Just didn’t have the turn of stifle to produce the drive of 1.

1st Jones & Ushakova Korifey Vanquish - 17mths BL/RT presented in pristine condition. Smart balanced outline, nothing overdone. Masculine head with correct planes, dark almond shaped eyes, nice length and depth of muzzle with tight cheeks. Clean reach of neck with length balanced with body. Topline slightly slopping to correct tail set. Correct front angulation with sufficient forechest, elbows tight to rib cage. Front and back legs parallel supported by cat like feet. Moved with ease with a well muscled backend and a good turn of stifle. Pleased to award him BD/BIS.

1st Edyveane’s Jojavik SnowPiercer - 13mths BL/RT Another quality boy with a clean outline with sufficient substance. Pleasing clean head with good depth of muzzle and correct bite. Darkest of rust markings and dark almond shaped eye. Lovely clean lean length of neck leading into a short coupled topline and correct tail set. Ample fore chest, tight elbows with parallel legs dropping to tight feet. Moved true.

Forechest yet to mature, pleasing front angulation with brisket down to elbow and well boned legs.Longer in loin than 1. Hindquarters well muscled with a nice turn of stifle. Needs time to mature and settle on the move.

2nd Merrett’s Xemuti Beamish Boy - 2yrsBL/RT standard male. Head piece not as strong as 1. Dark eye and correct scissor bite. Good topline and tailset. Would have preferred a longer length of neck in proportion to body. Brisket down to elbows but not held tight on the move. Sufficient turn of stifle provided good drive.

1st Santoriello’s Rafthouse Amulets Child - 14mths BL-RT Strong eye catching male, slowly maturing. Clean outline with plenty of substance. Lovely masculine head, with good depth of muzzle and underjaw. Dark almond eye and and correct scissor bite.Good length of neck flowing down to a clean shoulder placement running through to a slightly sloping topline with correct tail set. Sufficient fore chest down to tight elbows. Legs parallel with strong pasterns and tight feet. Nice bend of stifle with well let down hocks. Moved true when settled.
2nd Thorn’s Grafmax Sergeant Pepper - Bl-Rt 2yr old nicely balanced well muscled young male with sufficient bone. Pleasing head, not as strong as 1 but in proportion to body. Nice dark eye and correct scissor bite. Convex neck leading into a clean correct topline and tail set. Ample fore chest, elbows tight to brisket. Hindquarters well muscled with a sweeping turn of stifle. Unsettled on the move.

1st Robinson’s Korifey Ivan - 2yr old Bl-Rt male presented in hard muscular condition. Masculine head with clean planes and good depth of muzzle. Sufficient length of neck flowing into clean sloping topline with correct tail set. Front legs positioned well under brisket with tight elbows and strong pasterns. Hindquarters well muscled with good second thigh and sweeping turn of stifle. Moved in well and in unison with handler.RBD
2nd Sharp’s Martifers Keep The Faith - Mature male with good head planes and well filled under eyes nicely set ears. Nice bone on this boy with good front angulations which was reflected on the move. Good length of neck flowing into good topline and tailset. Sufficient turn of stifle. Just didn’t have the enthusiasm to move as well as 1 on the day.

1st Salimova’s Smart Wood Hills Quasar - 2yr Br/Rt standard male with plenty of substance. Strong masculine head with correct planes and good depth of muzzle and underjaw with correct bite. Eyes almond shaped with correct colouring. Neck flowing into a short coupled body with good tail set. Elbows could be tighter. Hindquarters well muscled, had a tendency to pace on the move. Handler needs to put more work into training.
VB - (3) Three quality bitches
1st Mycroft’s Ch Supeta’s Spells Trouble JW ShCM- 8½yr Bl/Rt standard balanced quality female with ample bone. Beautiful feminine head with lovely expression with nicely set ear carriage. Good planes and depth of muzzle, dark almond shaped eye. Lovely arched neck flowing into a clean firm topline and tailset. Short in loin with good undercarriage. Ample forchest with brisket down to tight elbows that were retained on the move. Legs parallel dropping into strong pasterns and tight catlike feet. Front angulation was correct and balanced in proportion to hind angulations which had a good turn of stifle. Movement was excellent with exceptional power and drive with nothing turning in or out.
2nd Thorn’s CH Taevas Black Velvet at Grafmax JW ShCM Liked this girl, judged her as a youngster. 8yr Bl/Rt different in type to 1 but that does not detract from her qualities. Standard female, presented in excellent condition with a clean outline. Lovely feminine head with good length and depth of muzzle with correct bite. Dark almond shaped eye with pleasing expression. Nice arched neck leading into a slightly sloping topline and correct tail set. Pleasing front angulation with good shoulder placement and ample forechest. Brisket down to tight elbows and strong pasterns with well arched feet. Undercarriage flowing into a good tuckup. Hindquarer angulation good with sufficient turn of stifle. Unfortunate on the day she just didn’t have the drive and power of1 on the move.

1st Hutchinson & Mycroft’s - Supetas Diamonds R Forever with Debison - 10mth Bl/Rt lovely boned female but retaining her feminine virtues. Strong feminine balanced with good depth of muzzle. head with good planes. Dark deep set almond shaped eyes with a pleasing expression. Nice lean convex neck leading into a good topline and correct tailset. Correct front angulation with a well matured fore chest for age. Brisket down to elbows , front legs and feet standing true which was retained on the move. Well tucked up for age, hindquarter angulation correct and well muscled for a youngster with a lovely bend of stifle and well let down strong hocks. Overall a well balanced promising puppy. RBP

1st Merrett’s Grafmax Titania - Bl/Rt 12mths elegant youngster, soundly balanced with sufficient bone and without exaggeration. Feminine head with good planes and dark deep set eyes, correct bite and sufficient depth of muzzle. Neck flowing into correct sloping topline and tailset. Good front angulation with sufficient forechest and good spring of rib. Elbows neat to body that was retained on the move. Good rear angulation with good turn of stifle. Moved steady and true.
2nd Gallagher’s Isralight Jitterbug - Br/Rt another lovely short coupled female.Lovely feminine head with well set ears. Correct wedge shaped head in proportion to body. Correct scissor bite, neck nicely arched flowing into sloping topline and correct tail set. Brisket down to elbows. Forechest not as developed as 1. Clean under carriage up to a tight tuckup. Hindquarters well muscled with lovely turn of stifle. Just preferred the front and movement of 1.

1st Thorn’s Grafmax Lucy In The Sky - Bl/Rt 12mths litter sister to JB. Another good sound youngster with sufficient substance and elegance. Feminine head, with dark rust markings, nice flat skull with typical wedge shaped head with good length of muzzle and correct bite. Nice dark eye, tight cheeks and sufficient depth of muzzle. Slightly longer than litter sister but attributes all to proportion, maturing slower. Forechest developing, with brisket dropped to tight elbows. Lovely length of neck flowing into correct clean topline and tailset. Front angulation good and in balance with hindquarters. Sufficient turn of stifle, moved well and true.
2nd Bradbury & Sanderson - Jodaseen Bootylicious - Bl/Rt mature elegant girl in hard condition with sufficient bone. Beautiful wedge shaped head with good planes and depth of muzzle and dark eye. Elegant arched neck flowing into a hard sloping topline and tailset. Sufficient fore chest with good front angulation. Brisket down to elbows with strong pasterns and catlike feet. Clean underline and tuck up. Good rear angles with a sweeping turn of stifle with hocks well let down. Just didn’t move as well as 1 on the day.

Elegant arched neck flowing into a lovely sloping topline and tailset. Correct front angulation with sufficient fore chest and brisket down to tight elbows. Clean underline and tuck up. Hindquarters balanced with front with lovely muscle tone and good turn of stifle. A little more weight would portray a better profile.Moved well.

!st Brannan & Mycroft’s Supeta’s Whole Lotta Rosie with Sharhyste JW - Br/Rt Close on 3yr old. Matured so well since I last judged her as a youngster. Standard, elegant female presented in hard muscular condition. Front and back angulation correct and balanced. Lovely wedged shaped head with flat skull, with dark eye. Good depth of muzzle with correct bite. Neck long and lean flowing into a slightly sloping topline and correct tailset. Ample fore chest with brisket down to elbows flowing down to well boned parallel legs and strong pasterns. Hindquarters well muscled with good second thigh and turn of stifle. Moved with attitude and elegance. Looked as if she could do a days work. BB &RBIS
2nd Murray & McCall - Br/Rt 2yr, a lot to like about this girl, younger than 1, short coupled and only just starting to mature. Strong feminine head, well filled under a dark eye. Flat cheeks with tight lips, sufficient length and depth of muzzle. Slightly convex neck with good length flowing into a well placed wither to croup. Sufficient forechest, correct front angulations with a well sprung rib with brisket down to tight elbows and strong parallel legs.Hindquarters balanced with front with a good bend of stifle. Just lacked the attitude of 1 on the move.

1st Morgan’s Korifey Opium Bl/Rt Mature female in hard muscular condition. Feminine head in proportion to body with a lovely expression. Well set ears and dark almond shaped eyes, length of muzzle in proportion to skull. Correct bite. Correct front angulation, a lean arched neck flowing into a correct topline and tailset. Deep chest down to elbow with good spring of rib. Well tucked up. Hind quarters well muscled, would have liked more turn of stifle. Moved true fore and aft.
2nd Gallagher’s Isralight Firedancer JW ShCM - Bl/Rt standard feminine girl with rich rust markings. Lovely length of head with muzzle in proportion to skull. Neck slightly shorter to body than 1. Nice sloping topline with correct tailset. Deep brisket well let down to elbow with strong parallel legs. Would have preferred a bit more forechest. Hindquarters well muscled with good turn of stifle.
